Hill, William G. "Bill"
A lifelong Pine City resident, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, March 15th, 2016. He was born in Elmira on March 14th, 1932 the son of the late Basil and Nellie (Black) Hill. He is survived by his wife of 25 years: Mary Fitzgerald Hill; sons: Mark Hill and daughter in law: Diane Hill of Elmira, Scott (Katie) Hill of Amsterdam, Guy (Laura) Conte of Poughkeepsie, NY; daughter: Catherine Conte Purvis of Pine City; sons: Michael Conte of Manhattan, Kaden Hill and Brayden Hill of the home address in Pine City; grandchildren: Keara Lee Hill, Caesar Conte, Augustus Conte, Bianca Conte, Nica Conte, Summer Rain Woodcook, Jagger Woodcook, Cooper Fitzgerald Woodcook; brothers in law: Ben Kosses of Florida and Reed (Lucy) Goodman of Pine City. He is predeceased by his former wife of 22 years: Lee Goodman Hill; brothers: Kenneth Hill, Cliff "Skip" Hill; sister: Linda Hill Kosses. Bill was also a very special grandpa and papa to Georgeanna Purvis and his beloved "Lulu". Also surviving is his sister: Jean Reep of Painted Post, NY; along with several nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira, NY on Saturday, March 19th, 2016 from 5:00PM to 7:00PM. Funeral services celebrating Bill's life will follow the calling hours at 7:00PM. Bill worked for Trayer Products until he was 82. Prior to working at Trayer he was a paper salesman for Waite and Horowitz Paper, he was the owner/operator of Bill and Kay's Restaurant in Pine City and worked 10 years with his wife at Buddy's Deli of Pennsylvania Avenue. Bill and his wife ran a therapeutic foster care with many children coming through for many years. Please make memorials in William G. Hills name to the Arctic League, 249 W. Clinton Street, Elmira, NY 14901.
