I did my student teaching with Miss Deacon. She was such a delight! So funny and fun. I have wonderful memories of my time with her.

I think Miss Deacon had many children. All of us lucky enough to have her for a 3rd grade teacher learned more than what was in our textbooks. We learned to enjoy life and to work hard for our dreams. Third grade was fun with games of "Mum" on days when there was no outdoor recess.

"Frannie" was my dearest friend and neighbor through our school years in Elkland. I cherished
her, and her family, for many years and so very much admired her kindness and loving spirit.
It was a blessing to have shared her friendship.

We can still hear Fran's infectious laughter; she was a joy to know and have as a friend and colleague throughout our years teaching in Horseheads.

Most Sincerely,
Fellow Members in her Horseheads Retired Teachers' Association
