What I remember most about Larry from high school in Dayton, Ohio is his opening my eyes to the outside world. He had me read Peaceable Lane and talked about the civil rights implications of Louis Gegner's refusal to cut the hair of black clients at his barber shop in Yellow Springs. He also gave me the print version of a Unitarian sermon citing Heisenberg's uncertainty principle. That led to a course in the philosophy of quantum mechanics to meet a science requirement (I knew I couldn't do real quantum mechanics). Were it not for Larry, I would have passed my entire senior year in complete oblivion, and not become the person I am today.

So sad to hear of Larry's passing. Dan and I both thought so much of him and what a great man he was !! Enjoyed many conversations with him during the years. Sending all of his family our prayers and hugs to get you through this time . Dan and Kathy Wilson

I am so sorry for your loss.

My fondest memory was that of listening to my husband, Ted Richards and Larry talking about their sons, and their involvement in the music programs in high school. Our Dan followed Nate in the vocal major at Ithaca College. We would see you at the performances on campus and marvel at our sons' abilities. Dan is working as an actuary in Boston and uses his music as an avocation by singing in a small choral group and substituting in church choirs. I have often wondered what Nate was doing now and was happy to see that he and his wife are living in Troy, NY. I grew up in East Greenbush. Troy was our county's seat.

Ted passed away in 2015, they were both great writers. So I would like to think that now he and Larry can continue their conversations.

I know that Larry is truly missed by all who have loved him.
