We as cousins are sad to learn of Sidney's passing. He was a humble man, a man who was very concerned for his fellow man's heart and soul.
When he was a young boy, he had been bullied and lived with another family for awhile to get away from the situation. He was quite young when his dad died. I'm sure this was hard for him. The depression times were also difficult for the family. He and his mom (my grandma) moved out east to be with other family members. I remember one time when your family came to visit us on the farm and I had the chicken pox and i could not enjoy being in on all the fun. I will always remember him as hard working, wanting to do the right thing, loving his wife and family, his brothers and sister, mother and father, etc., and love for others.
He and Edith, your mom, would also enjoy singing and preaching. at Center Baptist Church when they would visit Iowa. Grandma Aldrich spelled out the name Aldrich with each child and your father name was Sidney Surprise. What a Blessing he was to so many!

Heather, I'm so sorry for the loss of your grandfather. May you find peace and comfort in knowing he is in a better place. Love to you and your family.

Thank you for saving my mom and as a result me and my family. We will see you again in Heaven!
