My heartfelt condolences ,deepest sympathy and prayers to the family of Bettie Holmes! Words cannot express the sadness and shock I felt, when I received the news of the loss of my dear co-worker and friend. Bettie loved her family very much! She always shared about the family weekend get together- Birthday celebrations and play dates with her great nephews and nieces. She spoke about her family all the time, which is a true testimony of her love, appreciation and how much she cherished family. I met Bettie 14 years ago when she joined Licensing & Registration team in New York, we commuted together, and could not wait to be relocated back to New Jersey , as the commute was wearing us out. Our relationship grew closer when we moved back to the Newark office, working late hours, and talking about our faith, her love for Gospel music, family, friends and her love for Ghana. She was such a caring person and would always ask me about my family. Bettie was kindhearted, warm and a very generous individual. She was my lunch buddy and would sometimes share her homemade /Holiday meals with me. She made the best cakes, and always shared her knowledge about healthy foods and supplements. I will always remember her warmth , pleasant smile, gentle spirit Big laugh and Sneeze!!!!!
Bettie was a very loyal employee, she stayed late to get her work done, and even when she faced challenges, she maintained professionalism. Bettie went above and beyond to assist customers. When a co-worker loss a loved-one, Bettie would reach out to me to give me their contact information, to reassure them that they were being thought-of . We shared personal experiences – what really touched me and showed me how big Bettie’s heart was- the sacrifices and adjustments she made to adopt her great nephew Kody to raise him in a loving home, faith and surrounded by family. Kody was always a part of our conversations as he got older, and she would sometimes share the things Kody would say to her that were "grown up" or" funny "- that made us laugh! I am blessed to have known Bettie as a friend and Co-worker and would miss her jovial morning greetings. Bettie would be sorely missed and never forgotten... what a great woman she was. You are in my prayers during this difficult time and the days ahead.
