Charles Edward Rex
Lake Hiawatha resident, loving husband, father, grandfather
Charles Edward Rex, 82, passed away Sunday evening, November 15, 2020, at St. Clare's Hospital in Denville.
Born and raised in Bronx, NY, Mr. Rex came to the Lake Hiawatha section of Parsippany 43 years ago.
He served honorably in the United States Navy from 1959 -1962.
Mr. Rex had been a project manager with the Givaudan Co of East Hanover for 30 years. He subsequently worked as a rental agent with Powder Mill Heights Apartments in Parsippany for 20 years, retiring two years ago.
A member of St. Ann R.C. Church, he was also a member of the Lake Hiawatha Country Club, where he had served as treasurer for 40 years.
Charles is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Cecelia Rex (nee McTeigue); his four loving children, Charles E. Rex (Jean), Kathleen Riedinger (Paul), Patrick Rex (Shannon), and Brian T. Rex (Angie); and seven cherished grandchildren, Caitlin, Charles, Nicholas, Christian, Joseph, James, and Kyle.
Relatives are invited to attend the Funeral Mass on Thursday, Nov. 19, 10 a.m. at St. Ann R.C. Church, Parsippany. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. Due to concerns regarding the Covid pandemic, the visitation will be private for family only. Arrangements are with S.J. Priola Parsippany Funeral Service, Lake Hiawatha (973-335-4700).

In loving memory of a wonderful person. Sincere condolences to Ceil and children. Charlie was a friend of mine since he guided me a a new employee at Fritzsche in 1971. We kept in touch from time to time and would always go down memory lane together. Charlie was a wonderful friend who loved his family. Rest In Peace my friend. My sincere condolences.... Joe Rainone

Cecelia, Charlie, Pat, Kathleen and Brian,
Our sincere condolences on the loss of Charlie. He was loving, funny, generous, and a real character! Dave and I always enjoyed chatting with him at the pool. We will miss that comeraderie. May your sadness turn to smiles as you remember all the good times you've shared over the years.
