Donna M. Novak
Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, longtime Edison resident
Donna M. Novak, 68, of Bethlehem Township, Pa., peacefully went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 1, 2020, at Lehigh Valley Hospital (Cedar Crest) Hospice Unit with her loving husband and daughter at her side.
Donna was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother and a longtime resident of Edison, N.J.
Donna was born on November 8, 1951, in Newark, N.J. She was the daughter of Dolores Schlorb Alderiso of Bethlehem, Pa., and the late Nicholas Alderiso. She was a 1969 graduate of Metuchen High School (N.J.) and a 1973 graduate of Seton Hall University with a B.A. in Art History. Donna was a lifetime member of the Banana Factory art community in Bethlehem, Pa., and the Portrait Society of America. Additionally, Donna was an assistant to the Director of the Metuchen Adult School and was a teaching assistant in special education at the Center School in Highland Park, N.J.
Donna is survived by her husband of nearly 48 years, John R. Novak, and her children, John R. Novak Jr. and Tara M. Webb, and their spouses, Elisabeth and Christopher, respectively. She was blessed with seven grandchildren whom she loved dearly. Donna is also survived by her sister, Jean Mercade and her husband, Ignacio, and her brothers, Michael Alderiso and his wife, Nancy, Nicholas Alderiso and his wife, Fulvia, and James Alderiso and his wife, Patricia.
Donna loved traveling with family and friends to Hilton Head, S.C., Phoenix, Ariz., and the Bahamas. She was an avid artist who enjoyed working in her studio with all mediums. Her creative abilities were appreciated by all those who were fortunate enough to know her.
Due to Covid-19, a Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a future time. The Finegan Funeral Home in Palmer Township, Pa., is coordinating all arrangements.
