Enrico Togna 'Hank'
Active senior, business owner and skilled general contractor
Enrico Togna "Hank," 92, passed away on Tuesday, April 27, 2021, at St. Clare's Hospital, Dover.
Hank was an active senior, he walked the Townsquare Mall most mornings after breakfast at the Townsquare Diner. He authored the published autobiography "Everyday It Got Better." Hank was proud of his US Navy experience as a member of the first class of frogmen in UDT, the precursor to the SEALS. He was born in Avon, Conn., and raised in Gardiner, N.Y., and he worked the dairy farms throughout his youth until he joined the Navy at age 17. He enjoyed hunting and talking sports with his son Hank Jr., his son-in-law Joe Kethley and his grandsons Joseph A. Kethley IV and Nicholas J. Kethley.
He married Elizabeth McCluskey in 1952 and started Togna Construction Inc. He was a Carpenter, Stone Mason and a General Contractor. He had built homes in Essex, Union, Morris, Sussex and Somerset counties. He also enjoyed listening to his granddaughter Nancy Togna play piano. Hank was a member of the Elks Club and was active when it was located in Dover and he participated after merged to Mt. Arlington. He was also a member of the Italian American Club in Dover.
He is survived by his daughter Elisa Kethley, son Enrico Togna Jr., grandchildren; Joseph A. and Nicholas J. Kethley and Nancy Togna, his sisters Fran Hallowich and Helen Hoffmann.
Visitation is 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 2, 2021 at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 Route 10, Randolph (www.tuttlefh.com). Funeral Service is 10 a.m. on Monday, May 3, 2021, also at the funeral home.

"Hank" was a wonderful neighbor to my Dad and they enjoyed a long friendship. I read his book about ten years ago and was touched by his early life struggles when he came to America. My deepest sympathy to the family. He was a great person.
