George Remolina
Founder - George Remolina Designs, Inc.
George Remolina, loving husband, father, and, grandfather passed away Monday morning, March 29, 2021, at the age of 68, with his wife and son by his side.
George "Remo" Remolina was born in Bogota, Colombia in 1952 to Steve and Miriam Remolina, the fourth of five children; immigrating with most of his family to the US at age 5. A longtime Essex County resident, he graduated from Nutley HS in NJ as a standout football player on their outstanding 1970 varsity team, thereafter, attending what is now known as Eastern Florida State College, where he was an avid surfer. He spoke fondly, and, often of the handful of close friends he made during these times as a young man.
He soon married, and, had a son; moving back to Essex County to begin his career as a jeweler. Learning under the apprenticeship of his father, he founded, George Remolina Designs, Inc.; finding the love of his life, Maria "MJ" Remolina shortly thereafter. They successfully ran their business together in Millburn for 25 years until retirement. He and Maria eventually settled in Ormond Beach, Florida after helping raise their loving grandchildren Isabella and Emma Grace. He and Maria loved to walk together, play golf, talk to friends, and especially visit with their grandchildren.
George is survived by his beloved wife Maria of 34 years; his son, Shane; and, his grandchildren, Emma Grace and Isabella Remolina. His body may have passed, but, his legacy will always live on - we love you Dad, you will be missed with all of our hearts. Family and friends are celebrating the life and times of George Remolina on Wednesday, April 7th at the Oceanside Beach Bar and Grill in Flagler Beach, Fl at 3pm.

So sorry to read about the passing of George. My husband and I lived many years in Millburn NJ and I have many gorgeous pieces that were handmade by him. I remember the jewelry shop and how you both were such wonderful people. I wear some of the pieces to this day and receive many compliments.

Played golf with George many times at Halifax. I actually recruited George to play in the men’s league. He was an above average golfer and I could never figure out how he hit the Ball because he had a unique swing. My wife and I would always see the both of you playing golf in the afternoon as we live on the 12th hole and we would always say hello when we could. George was always a gentleman weather on the golf course or in public. Our prayers are with you and may he Rest In Peace. Howard and Barbra Sparber.

My Dad was an incredible father, grandfather and husband. He worked hard to create a life for us out of nothing - built a successful business, and, was able to retire relatively early. He made me the man I am today and was able to provide a life he never had. Although he struggled a little with academics, he more than made up for it through his hard work, determination, intelligent practicality, and grit. He adored his wife immensely - they have the kind of love you admire so much. It was great to see them together, so happily, for so many years - working together all the time when I grew up, to when they retired together, and, were able to spend well-deserved relaxing time with each other. It was my father, and, MJ his wife who interrupted their retirement when I needed them most - having young children and recently divorced, coming back to NJ without question, without being asked, and loving their grandchildren with all of their hearts. I will miss him with all of my heart - he was my hero. I love you Dad.
