George Remolina, loving husband, father, and, grandfather passed away Monday morning, March 29, 2021, at the age of 68, with his wife and son by his side.
George "Remo" Remolina was born in Bogota, Colombia in 1952 to Steve and Miriam Remolina, the fourth of five children; immigrating with most of his family to the US at age 5. A longtime Essex County resident, he graduated from Nutley HS in NJ as a standout football player on their outstanding 1970 varsity team, thereafter, attending what is now known as Eastern Florida State College, where he was an avid surfer. He spoke fondly, and, often of the handful of close friends he made during these times as a young man.
He soon married, and, had a son; moving back to Essex County to begin his career as a jeweler. Learning under the apprenticeship of his father, he founded, George Remolina Designs, Inc.; finding the love of his life, Maria "MJ" Remolina shortly thereafter. They successfully ran their business together in Millburn for 25 years until retirement. He and Maria eventually settled in Ormond Beach, Florida after helping raise their loving grandchildren Isabella and Emma Grace. He and Maria loved to walk together, play golf, talk to friends, and especially visit with their grandchildren.
George is survived by his beloved wife Maria of 34 years; his son, Shane; and, his grandchildren, Emma Grace and Isabella Remolina. His body may have passed, but, his legacy will always live on - we love you Dad, you will be missed with all of our hearts. Family and friends are celebrating the life and times of George Remolina on Wednesday, April 7th at the Oceanside Beach Bar and Grill in Flagler Beach, Fl at 3pm.
