I just learned Harold Sarvetnick died when I was doing a MLK mailing. Harold was a very kind man. He helped organize a street fair at the Westfield Neighborhood Council and was always a donor for our Martin Luther King Service. My sincere condolences to his family.

We were graced with Harold's love for Peters Valley through his service on the board of directors and his passion for ceramics as a student in our workshops. It was an honor to work with him and to experience his genuine love of life, his curiosity, his kindness and generosity. Harold always helped Peters Valley and supported our efforts to develop a better school. I send my deepest condolences to Harold's children, family and friends. His smile is already missed.
Sincerely, Kristin Muller

I was so sad to hear of Harold's passing. I served with him for many years on the Peters Valley School of Craft board. What a wonderful man! He was smart, engaged, energetic, full of ideas and enthusiasm and just a total pleasure to serve with. And Harold worked hard on so many transformative projects.
I felt like he was a rare human being - a gentleman with a generous spirit. He will be missed. My deepest condolences to his family and friends.

I send my deepest sympathies and condolences to the Sarvetnick family. Harold hired me at Acrilex back in 1995 and I fondly remember the meeting in his office in Jersey City like it was yesterday. I was completely impressed with his firm yet gentle demeanor and of course his intellect which he possessed yet never flaunted and made everyone feel comfortable and was very respectful. Harold was a man of vision, talent and a pillar of integrity. He made his employees feel like family and designated one Saturday a month Acrilex Family Day" where the employees all came in to help clean-up, paint, organize and improve the shop...afterwards bonding over lunch and to share good times together. On a personal note, I remember Harold and Lois inviting myself and my daughter (she was around 10 or so, at the time)to his home and giving her a very cool fossil souvenir which she still has and cherishes to this day. He was a dedicated family man and always made sure his employees families were a vital part of the Acrilex Family. We had annual picnics, and at the workplace, he often allowed us to bring in our children to "hang out"
I heard about Harolds passing just this past friday and unfortunately wasn't able to make arrangements to attend the services in such short notice...I also had family visiting from out of town. (I live in NC these days). On behalf of Myself and MY family, we send our deepest love, respect and best wishes to the Sarvetnick family and grieve with you at this difficult time.
Bless you all...
