Newark native and cafe owner, also owned a Lawn Doctor franchise
Margaret Schwartz of Centreville, MD, passed away at the Homestead Manor in Denton, MD. She was 86 years old.
Born in Newark, NJ, Mrs. Schwartz was the daughter of the late Albert and Margaret Hahn McCully. She was a graduate of Arts High School and for many years worked with her husband operating Cooney's Café in Newark until 1970. From 1974 until 1994, she owned and operated a Lawn Doctor franchise in Robbinsville, NJ. She was a Past President of the American Legion Post 408 Auxiliary in Newark and had been the Commander of the Essex County Legion Auxiliaries in North New Jersey. She and her husband moved to Centreville in 2010.
Mrs. Schwartz is survived by her husband, Robert Schwartz of Centreville; her daughter, Dolores A. Jones of Centreville; and a sister, Arlene Iarossi of Montvale, NJ. She was predeceased by a sister, Dolores Muncy.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, February 24th, at the Our Mother of Sorrows Roman Catholic Church in Centreville. The interment will be in the Chesterfield Cemetery in Centreville.
