Peter P. Araneo
WWII veteran and longtime Livingston resident, 92
Peter P. Araneo, 92, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Nov. 30, 2019.
A 52-year resident of Livingston, N.J., he was born in Orange, N.J., to Peter and Tesse Araneo. He was a graduate of East Orange High School and Seton Hall University. He went on to serve his country proudly in the U.S. Army during World War II. Employed by Canada Dry Corp., Peter was an avid tennis player, golfer and bowler.
He was a member of the Livingston Elks and the Old Guard of Caldwell.
Peter was predeceased by his beloved wife of 62 years, Rita Ann (Stetz); he was the loving father of Laura Araneo Jakubowski and Barbara Araneo Rohsler; and proud grandfather of Matthew, Daniel and Michael Rohsler.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 145 E. Mt. Pleasant Ave., Livingston, N.J., on Wednesday, Dec. 4, from 4 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home on Thursday, Dec. 5, at 12:30 p.m., followed by entombment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, N.J.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
