BEATRICE MARIAN SCHLAGETER Beatrice Marian Schlageter, 96, passed away the evening of Sunday, February 10,2019, at Cambridge Village. She was born in Bourbonnais, IL, on June 15,1922, the youngest of thirteen to parents Peter Arthur and Regina Dion DeMarah. Beatrice is survived by three daughters, Barbara Parks (husband Larry), Carla Anderson (husband Danny), and Diana Seward; eight grandchildren, Larry Parks Jr., Jennifer (and Todd) Woodall, Sandy (and Andy) Watford, Daniel Anderson, John (and Kristinia) Seward, Jason Seward, Michael Seward, James (and April) Kroll, Jr.; eleven great grandchildren, Emily, Molly and Karly Woodall, Hunter and Tucker Watford, Logan Seward, Mya, Caden, Trenton, James III, and Jade Kroll. Together with her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Herman Peter Schlageter, Jr., daughter Sandra Lee Schlageter and great granddaughter Karlee Anne Watford. Bea, as known by her friends, was fiercely loving, loyal, and a passionate person who enriched the lives of everyone she met. To meet her was to know her. Always the social butterfly and fiercely independent. She was a devote Catholic, doting mother, and a caring grandmother and great "Granny B". She prayed daily and loved shopping, crafting, cooking, music and dance but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. A classy lady, wearing lipstick and pearls, she swore by Ponds cold cream and lived life to its fullest. A celebration of her life will be held at the Wilmington Funeral Chapel at 10:00am, Saturday, February 23,2019. A Memorial Mass is to follow at St. Mark Catholic Church at 1:00pm. Flowers, cards and condolences can be sent to Wilmington Funeral & Cremation or consider a donation to Lower Cape Fear Hospice in her honor. Mathews 9:25 After the crowd was put outside, however, Jesus went in and took the girl by the hand, and she stood up! Please share memories and condolences with the family at www.wilmingtoncares.com.
