My sympathies and prayers to the whole Kerns family. What a great guy Ira was. We worked together at J&H Machine Tools. I learned so much from him there professionally. Personally, I also enjoyed being neighbors in Mint Hill - we could always count on Ira to buy a Girl Scout cookies and entertain us with lively discussions. I was blessed to have Ira as a friend. Ira was always friendly, helpful, and cheerful. The world needs more folks like Ira - I will miss him as well as everyone that had the privilege to know him.

I am so saddened by Ira's passing. Ira and I spent many hours together driving to customers all over the Southeast US. He was a valued colleague for whom I had tremendous respect. Most of all, he was a valued friend and I will miss him deeply.

At the start I knew Ira by business association and then as a co-member of a technical committee. He was one of the best sales people to work with in business and I could always count on and trust him. Over time we become friends and when retired he would call to check how things were going with me personally and professionally. We could talk about almost anything and he made the conversations enjoyable no matter what the topic. Ira will be greatly missed and I pray for peace for the family during this time of loss.
