Arthur was my closest and best buddy from Little League, to Pony League, Midland High School, Big State Baseball Camp separating only when I went to Baylor on baseball scholarship and he went to UT on baseball scholarship. We stayed in touch over our adult years but lost contact in 1991 when he and Carolyn came to my law office in Houston and told me he had terminal prostate cancer but would defeat it, which he apparently did for 26 years according to his obituary. I never knew his location after that time and assumed that he had succumbed to the cancer. A Midland classmate, whom I had inquired of about info on Art, let me know of the obituary in Midland paper. I was elated that I knew his location and devastated that he had recently died all in one fell swoop. I assure you that he made it to Heaven and look forward to future reunion. Rest in Peace Arthur and know that you are loved. James (Squeaky) York.

My thoughts are with your family.

As part of the extended Adams family that dates back to the Oklahoma Land Run of 1889 and the establishment of Oklahoma A&M - Oklahoma State University, it was such a pleasure to get to know Art through all the family reunions. We are so happy we had a chance to know him and for our time together last June. We are thinking of you today and extend our sympathy.

Art was a friend, a classmate, a fraternity brother at UT. He was also a teammate on baseball teams from Pony League, Midland High, and the Longhorns. In all these years I never saw him loose his cool...he was a class act his entire life! I deeply miss him already.
