Mrs. Schmidt was a second mother to me. I think I learned my love of Sunday CBS morning show from her. Her sense of humor and quick wit were unparalleled. She had a large impact on my life. Such a special gift to give.

Sending so much love to all the family. I so wish I could be there with all of you. Barbara helped raise me, I would say. I loved her and Leon like my own parents. Barbara taught me so much about goodness and generosity, as well as how not to take myself too seriously, but to take life seriously. Leon, as well. Both led their lives with humor, dignity, and grace. May her memory be a blessing. With heartfelt condolences,
Carol Werbow-Schier

I loved Barbara so much, loved to lunch with her and loved her honest and wry wit. I know I speak for all my Austin family and my parents when I say we will greatly miss her.

Barbara was an amazing women who we loved like a member of our family. She was thoughtful, kind and generous. Barbara was hilarious and so much fun to be around.
She will be greatly missed by the Mainwaring family.
