Dear Mom, You are truly the most unique person that I have ever known. We were so different from each other, yet we loved each other so much. You had more personalty & spirit than anyone could imagine. There is so much I don't know what to say: You enjoyed life and lived it with gusto. Traveling to Indonesia in 1957 with a 6 month old was brave and adventurous. You threw the best parties & had great Birthday parties for Nancy & I. You taught us many life lessons including being accepting of all people, & to treasure the good friends we have. You loved writing poetry, playing bridge, majong & being active in theatre. You were the queen of costume. I remember you putting on your wellingtons & killing snakes in Thailand with Dang. You were one of the only civilians to be brave enough to go with the Dr's in Indonesia to help out at the Leper Colony. You were famous for speaking you mind & I am sorry that I was embarrassed by it! Most of all I remember your love for your handsome husband, my father, Charles William. You had so much love & adventure together. I know that you are both on to new beginnings. I will always love & treasure our last few years together Mom. I will try to become more like you by living, loving & telling it like it is! "Sway with the Bamboo" as you often said.....
Love,
Cynthia Dara

I would not currently exist if it had not been for Aunt Dee fixing up my Mom and Dad. It always seemed like an event when y'all visited in Bethlehem from overseas while we grew up. And I also appreciated the gracious hospitality whenever I visited them in Houston.

Although I did not know her I feel like I do. I have heard numerous stories over the years from Nancy on what a big personality she had. I know she will be missed but she lives on through you all. What a wonderful Mother. May the memory of her bring you sweet comfort!
Love, Lise
