Carolyn BRINEGAR Obituary

BRINEGAR, Carolyn Jean "Carol" Carolyn "Carol" Jean Brinegar of Round Rock, Texas, peacefully transitioned from this life February 24, 2018, after a 15 month battle with cancer. Carol was born November 15, 1953, in Wichita, Kansas, to Clarissa "Jewell" and Berwyn Yelton Brewer. She met her loving husband, Craig Brinegar, in Kansas City, Kansas at the Kansas City Board of Trade where they both worked and married in 1983 at Overland Park Christian Church in Overland Park, Kansas. Craig's work brought them to Houston, Texas in 1988. Together, they had two daughters: Courtney Michelle Brinegar (born in Kansas City, Missouri in 1985) and Amy Elizabeth Carpenter (born in Houston, TX in 1989). From family and friends to acquaintances, people always found Carol to be warm, kind, full of laughter, and thoughtful. Her creative side was expressed through drawing, painting, cooking, and singing. Carol was highly involved with her choir groups at Bear Creek United Methodist Church in Houston and First United Methodist Church of Round Rock. Carol had over 34 years of blissful marriage with Craig enjoying a shared bond through genealogy, traveling, and relaxing at their Burnet creek house together. She loved her daughters greatly; Carol was a Girl Scout troupe leader, dance mom (the nice kind), proud Aggie mom, and avid supporter of her daughters' careers. She was proud of her American heritage and was delighted to be incorporated into the Daughters of the American Revolution. Her hobbies included learning about American history, outdoor hikes, and hanging out with her bunco diva girlfriends. Carol is survived by her spouse, Craig Brinegar; daughters, Courtney Brinegar and Amy Carpenter; son-in-law, Zac Carpenter; nieces, Tammy Weeda and Cindy Vandewege; nephew, Scott Sayre; several cousins; and two feline companions, Sophronia Bluebell and Mumphred Napoleon. She is preceded in death by her mother, Jewell Brewer; her father, Berwyn Brewer; and her sister, Diana Sayre. The following services will be held in her honor: Visitation on Thursday, March 1st, 5pm-8pm at Beck Funeral Home (4765 Priem Lane, Pflugerville, Texas 78660). Funeral Service will be held Friday, March 2nd at 1pm at First United Methodist Church of Round Rock (1004 N Mays St., Round Rock, Texas 78664). Afterwards, Carol will be laid to rest at Lakeland Hills Cemetery, Burnet, Texas. The family appreciates your support and highly encourages donations made to rare cancer research, particularly gallbladder cancer, in memory of Carol's life.
