Herman will be greatly missed. He was one of the very first people that I met when I came to work in Austin. He always checked on me, made me breakfast tacos at least once a week and brought me his own pecan pralines that he made from scratch. He always told me that he was never moving from his apartment that I managed. He even had his sister Carmen and Jacob move in and get an apartment. He always was smiling and always quick to hand a helping hand to me or any of his neighbors. His family quickly became my family. Sandra, Molly, Joe Gilbert, Jaime, Herman Jr., Carmen, Jacob, Gilbert, Chavela, and Julia always was very sweet to me and my family. I will miss Herman terribly. We sat and would talk about his children and grandchildren. He gave me lots of history lessons on Austin. Heaven got another angel looking down on us. He was such a hard worker...he now can rest. I always will remember how I looked for him in the mornings as he would be resting with his eyes closed waiting for me to come in early in the morning. We would chat, hug, and tell each other we would see each other later. So I will now look forward to later....but I know he is watching over me like he did while he was here. Another angel got his wings!!! Herman I love you and thank you for your friendship.

We am so sorry for your loss. I remember Herman as one of the best baseball coach my son ever had. I will remember him always as a kind man with lots of patience and loved life...especially baseball and his family. Roger and Tina Hughes and Sean Yadon
