No finer man, loving husband and father, friend to all and dedicated Godly Christian. He modeled his faith by how he lived. Oh, how he will be missed.

A man I wish I had known, for his life of service and dedication surely makes cherished memories for his family and all of those who were privileged to have known him.

I first talked by phone with Mr. & Mrs. Brown in 1977. I was so impressed by how genuine Jack Brown was for that 5 minutes. After all, I was talking to the Jack Brown. With increasing frequency through the years, and contact with him through his children and grandchildren in the neighborhood and at church work, there he was, always so much fun to talk with again and again. Church, basketball at the house, church, Sunday lunch, the grandkids basketball league games, church. After a while, when I saw Mr. Brown and introduced myself, he would say, "Jeff, I know who you are" and we would laugh and carry on. Last year, that last time I saw Mr Brown and all the family at Sunday lunch, he and I had a small laugh at y'all's expense. The prior week, I had seen him at a doctor's office. He was having some difficulty getting across the room so I walked over and asked if I could help. He gave me that big smile even though he was totally out of breath and actually turning very red faced, and we made it to a landing spot to allow him to catch his breath. We were both laughing so hard, we couldn't either one speak for a few minutes. Once we were able to converse, he confessed that he had made the drive to the doctor's office even though he shouldn't have done so alone. We visited for a bit and he asked if I would get his oxygen tank out of his car. We got him hooked up and he was all the better. The laugh at Sunday lunch was that I wasn't supposed to mention his solo doctor's outing -- if asked. It was such a pleasure to laugh with him again. ---- The Brown family are great people (& that doesn't have to mean you are perfect, thank goodness). But if you are substantially like your parents, you will all be just fine. Loved your DAD. God is good. (Sorry to go so long.)

Dear Brown Family
We all grew up together,
My mother Bonnie Tolson and I are so sad to hear of Jack's passing. Our prayers will be with all of you.
