Jay was the most kind and thoughtful man. His stories about walking Whistlers Lane as a boy, hearing the birds. Of course there was not Whistlers Lane, it was something he made up in a fond memory from his childhood. I will always remember his stories. Great man!!!!

Oh, how Big Jay will be missed, just like Miss Eva! Ann and Jay, y'all's folks were the BEST you know!!! Our Rodgers family share so many happy memories with you all out on your place or the lake, and at church and all the activities connected there. UT games too! Rides in the car. Everything I ever did with your parents was special and fun!!! They always made me feel loved and welcome, like family. We had so much fun spending time with all of you!!! My heart will always hold a place for each one of you and most especially Miss Eva and sweet Big Jay. I'm sure their reunion and welcome in heaven was awesome!!! Hugs on your necks! Love you Jay and Ann, Claudia in Alabama

Wish it had been possible for at least one of our remaining family to attend Jay's memorial service. Sad to learn of another one of our generation has left us. Our parents, Carl and Tina Sundbeck, had a dairy farm in Waters Park adjacent to the Barnes family. In fact, Parmer Lane, then a graveled road, ran through our parent's farm. We have many memories of good and fun days with Jay and sister Vada Helen at Summit Elementary School, community parties, etc.; and also of the hard work helping on the dairy farm. Marvin, Charlotte, Jewel, Georgia & Carl, Jr.

I regret that I missed the memorial service for this wonderful man. He lead a full life and now has gone to reside in his heavenly home. He will be missed by all. A special thanks out to Maria who cared for him so unselfishly for 15 years. It gave him a wonderful closure to a very fruitful life. God bless all in the days ahead.
