I worked with Jay in the 1980's at KUHF FM, University of Houston. I also had the honor of photographing his wedding. Jay is a beautiful soul.

I was very sorry to read of Jay's passing. He was such a clearly focused individual and made no excuses for being who he was. I especially remember his oft repeated quote (from a mentor?) to be proud of one's voice, though try as I have, it's the spirit of "boldly speak your truth/be yourself" that comes to mind more than the words themselves.

He lived to help others, and we met and grew participating in many seminars. Though we lost touch, he has been a recurring presence in my gratitude group of people who have made a strong, continuing, positive impression on me.

His photo, years later, shows him happy living his best life, and a true model to we fortunate to have known him.
