BARBEE, Patricia Ann May 29, 1947 March 1, 2018 Trisha was passionate about a lot of things but especially about cats, antiques, her mom and little brother and cruising the world with her dear friend Stephen. She served the citizens of the State of Texas for over 30 years working in the infancy of the computer era in the Comptroller's Office. When she wasn't working she spent a lot of time helping the Austin community by delivering food for Meals on Wheels and collecting teddy bears for firemen and paramedics to use to ease the fear of little children. She loved to collect recipes and put those skills to good use as a member of the Austin Junior Forum's Cook Book Team. Trisha could express delight better than anyone I have ever seen. Such a full embracing intensity. She adored giving the most syrupy cards to which she would add more hyperbole and dozens of exclamation points. There is no one who could gift a card with more childlike expectation than Trisha. Situated on a hill that overlooks downtown, Oakwood; Austin's oldest cemetery will become Trisha's place of rest on March 14th. Services will begin at 10 AM at Weed-Corley-Fish and continue at graveside. Please remember her by planting something green that will live on in her memory. For those desiring, you may also access the online guest registry and obituary at www.wcfish.com.

From Houston Baptist College in 1965 throughout the 50+ years we were always friends. I will miss her greatly. There are now tears of great joy in heaven as Tricia is with her mother and father, and our Heavenly Father. Always cherished, always loved, never forgotten - my Forever Friend..

How do you say goodbye to the friend you met when you were 12? The one you went to junior high football games with; shared hot chocolate with in front of a roaring fire, air conditioner running full blast in Houston because her mom loved a fire and loved spending time with "her" girls. The one who was in both your weddings; who was godmother to your first-born, and brought several lovingly homemade dinners when your second was born. She was high-spirited, adventurous, fiercely loyal, generous, funny, private, sensitive, troubled at times, and suffered through many ailments. I am glad that sickness and pain are now behind her. I loved her and will miss her presence in the world - after 58 years, she was family.

I worked this Trisha at the Comptroller's office. I especially enjoyed reconnecting with her later and exchanging stories of our travels. Best wishes to her family.
