May Christ, our true God, risen from the dead, place the soul of His departed priestly servant Robert in the abode of the saints, grant him rest in the bosom of Abraham, and number him among the just, through the prayers of His most pure Mother, of the holy, glorious and praiseworthy Apostles, of our venerable and God-fearing Mothers and Fathers, and of all the Saints; may He have mercy on us and save us, for He is gracious and loves mankind. Amen.

Still pondering the loss of Father Robert. I'd be hard pressed to remember many homilies, though I've heard some good ones. However, I'll NEVER forget one of Father Robert's. In the late 80s when our children were young at Mass, Father called all the children to the altar giving each of them a origami dove. Father sat on the floor, among the kids, and told them the true story of Sadako. Sadako survived the bombing of Hiroshima, but developed cancer at age 11 as a result. Sadako never gave up on world peace. Father gave such a convicting, beautiful sermon and one that I'll never forget. Read Sadako's story here. https://www.origami-resource-center.com/sadako.html

Father Becker was a great spiritual leader and friend to our mother, Mary Williams, while at Saint Mary's in Lockhart. He was a good, straightforward man who did not suffer fools gladly. He brought new interests to the parish and to the community. Our deepest condolences go out to his family and friends. Thank you for all you did for all of us, Father Becker.
