Sorry to hear of Steve's passing. My thoughts and prayers go out to his entire famly.

So sorry to hear of Steve's passing. Our prayer's going out to all of the family. We knew Steve through the shoe shop. We lived next door to the shop where Steve worked long and hard hours. We would go check on him from time to time and would leave there with a great story. He enjoyed sharing stories about his wife and girls, and sharing the pranks he played on them. He would call us and ask us" what is for supper?" We would scramble to come up with something, but he never took us up on it. He was always so nice and friendly and we felt so lucky to have him as a friend and neighbor. He was the absolute best shoe man in town. He restored some old english riding boots of my mother's that came out looking brand new. We did question him a few times that if we left our shoes there would he be able to find them? He always told us he knew where every shoe was in the shop-we wondered:) We moved after ten years, and he showed up on our doorstep with a very nice bread knife and cutting board. We think of him every time we use it. He also told us that if we ever needed anything to not hesitate to call him. Steve was a great man! May the family take good care. I knew Steve in high school and talked to him at our 20th reunion. He was a very nice, sweet, friendly boy and I am very sorry to hear of his passing. God bless all of you. Luanne Tovey Zuccari, Niagara Falls, New York

Steve and I grew up together on South Kessler Street in Wichita. We were in school and cub scouts together until going our separate ways in life.
Not mentioned in the obituary was that Steve was the manager of the championship basketball team in high school.
A highlight of the recent West High School reunion for me was getting to talk at length with Steve.
