WHITAKER, Raymond Lee Raymond was born at Brackenridge Hospital in Austin, Texas on October 3, 1928 to Lee and Mae (Polk) Whitaker. Raymond graduated from Austin High in 1946 and then joined the Texas Army National Guard in February 1947. He served in the Guard with the exception of tours of Active Duty and Active Duty for Training until his retirement as a Chief Warrant Officer Four on September 28, 1990. He was a member of Hill City Lodge 456, the Austin Scottish Rite Bodies, and the Cosmopolitan Club of Austin. He was a life member of the National Guard Association of Texas with life number #38. Memorial services will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Harrell Funeral Home, 4435 Frontier Trail, Austin, TX.
