Silverton - Dorothy May Hatteberg went home to our Lord and Savior on June 2, 2018 peacefully at home. She was born in Salem, OR to Maurice and Idyl Dunigan on September 25, 1919. She grew up in the Hazel Green/Salem area enjoying farm life and riding horses with two sisters Harriet O'Neil and Margaret Otjen. She graduated from Salem high and attended Willamette University. She met the love of her life, Irvin Weldon Hatteberg (predeceased) of Silverton and married on May 17, 1941. They celebrated their 70th anniversary in 2011. They had two sons Jerry (Kari) Hatteberg and Rob (Karen) Hatteberg both living in the Silverton area. Dorothy was also affectionately known as Grandma "D" to her five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Dorothy worked in retail sales most of her life starting with Fred Meyer, in Portland, and then with Meier and Frank in Salem, OR. She enjoyed spending time in her flower garden, visiting with family and friends and attending her grandchildren's sports activities. Both Dorothy and Irv enjoyed their winters together in Arizona and attending spring training ballgames.

Dear Dorothy's family,
Your sweet Mom and I worked together in the Bedding and Linen department of Meier and Frank way too many years ago to mention. What a fun and dear lady. I join you all in remembering her fondly.
