I never met Dorothy but spoke with her by telephone when she called the school district for information. I don't recall what she was looking for but we had a wonderful conversation. She told me about her WWII experience and then sent me a copy of the May/June 2000 Vets News that had an article about her service and a photo of her.
I enjoyed the article and having had the chance to speak with her.

I was Dorothy's insurance Agent for many years - she taught me the history of the song "You are my Sunshine". She was a hoot!

I worked with Dorothy both at Chemeketa and at Northeast Neighbors. She was one of the loveliest women I have ever met. Gracious, sweet, firm, thoughtful, engaging, did I mention sweet? I loved her. And her Southern lilt. God bless you and keep you Dorothy.
