My prayers and love are for you, Alice, and your loving sons. My memories of you and Ed are many. Our visit to the coast of Washington in a cabin, our service in the ministry together, the lunch Dorren and I had with you in Gates, Oregon and your visit to my home in Ohio are treasured memories. We also found you in Arizona. I will always remember our laughs and your giggles, Alice. I am sure that Ed is in God's precious, beautiful world having the time of his life in the carpenter shop with Jesus, the master carpenter (if there is a carpenter shop). We will soon know as we are all reunited with that kind, caring man, Ed Patterson. Blessings on you and your family, Cathie

Ed was a hero to my sister Jo and I. We loved visiting him and Alice at Santiam Lodge, and were so grateful for their hospitality. He inspired me to broaden my vision of God and changed my life as a yoga teacher forever. We enjoyed wonderful hikes with him and Alice up through the John Muir trail and some other fun adventures too. Always ready for an adventure, Ed made several trips to visit us in Canada. He was a great one to serve others and share his gifts generously. Jo and I will miss his but he will always remain in our hearts. We love you Alice, be well.

Ed was the real deal. All the campers, all the kids, all the councilors knew it. The mosquitoes didn't even land on him. How far is the lake? a ways. When are we going to get there? in a while. He acted like a part of creation and not just an observer of it. Solid. Great example. Great character. Great smile. Just thinking of him makes me quieter.
