Bert was a very sophisticated man. I made a trip to Korea with him and was impressed with the high regard people there had for him. He lived life well and was very proud of his family. I am lucky to have known him.

I am proud to have known Bert since his early years in Portland. We worked together, sailed against each other, and managed to remain in touch ever since. Bert was a really great and gracious man, who will be solely missed by the many lives his touched for the better. Hugs to Bruce and other family members.... and a hearty Cheers to Bert !!

I will miss our little chats and funnies through email, as well as your visits, and your pictures and stories about your travels. I will love and miss you always, Uncle Bert, you will never be forgotten.
