Dear Family.

I had probably not reached my teens, but do remember Hilda Lee. She was a distant relative of my father, from the west coast of Norway.

Hilda and her children visited us and stayed in our home outside Oslo, sometime in the 1970`s. I can remember a joyful encounter with wonderful family, stories from a ranch in Oregon, horse riding and epleslang in our neighbor's garden. This was a visit that has been talked about in our family through the years and has stuck in my mind ever since.

Just the other day I told my two boys about our distant relatives in America. I looked through my deceased mothers ( Thelma from Canada) address book and found Hilda. After a short search on the internet I discovered that I sadly had missed the opportunity to connect with her by a couple of months.

Condolences to her family.
Warm regards, Fredrick Storhaug,

In the unlikely event that this should be a different Hilda Lee that I remember from her Norway visit, please accept my sincere apology and deepest condolences.

Mrs Lee was a great lady, friend, and fantastic teacher . Matt and Brittany were in her first grade class...their favorite teacher.
Whenever I'm in Eastern Oregon, I feel compelled to gather pine needles for a basket. Sometimes, I'd gather them for her. My mother and I took her class ...special time.
I remember her flowers as well and the beautiful arrangements she sold at the Christmas bazaar.
We miss her

Hilda was a wonderful and caring lady. I have great memories from our Pine Needle Basket days at the Salem Senior Center and will never forget them. She will be missed everyday!
