So many memories of Jan, where do you start. The guy could make you laugh and the one day on the golf course will stay with me forever.

Jan had been talking up what a great golfer he was and was always after me to go hit the links. One day I finally gave in and we went over to Meadow Lawn. Now I wasn't a very good golfer, so I thought it best to let Jan tee off first. He addressed the ball, you could see the wheels turning, and he swung away. He completely missed the ball. I almost fell on the ground laughing. You could see he wanted to throw his club but managed to keep his composure. He actually had a good round that day and beat me soundly but I'll never forget that first swing.

Jan was a good mentor and was instrumental in my career at SFD. His knowledge of the Codes, his demeanor in explaining the issues to the customer was invaluable. Fire God, you will be missed.

I will never forget your uncanny ability to always make me laugh and giggle! Your sweet and loving presence always drew people close to you! Your stories of life and all you experienced were so enjoyable and intriguing! I will always be grateful for that very special time you, Momma Connie, Jim, and I shared in April of 1998. Thank you for being part of that moment! Your willingness to make it all spectacular and magical will not be forgotten! Thank you for sharing a little piece of your life with me! I will always hold a special place for you in my heart. You are a beautiful soul!

I knew Connie from working at the hospital and met Jan from there. They were both great friends to me, always fun, always loyal. Even after Connie passed and I would run into Jan it was just like no time had passed, a big smile and a hug and then tearful Connie memories. Will miss that smiling face. Be happy.....
