To the family,
I knew Ernie as a teenager when his family lived in Maclay. He was always cheerful and friendly. His dog would always run out and try to bite my car tires when I drove by their house.
Then in the late sixties Ernie came to work at the State Prison where I was a Correctional Officer. We frequently worked together in the segregation unit and other areas of the prison. It was always a pleasure to work with him.
In the early 1990's I would frequently run into Ernie and his lovely wife at Shari's restaurant in Keizer. I was always amazed and impressed with both of them as they withstood the terrible effects of his failing health.
I am truely fortunate to have known Ernie throughout these years.
