So sorry to hear of our earthly loss. So happy I will see Rita again in heaven. We cherish our memories of this great couple.
My husband and I met Dick and Rita in Japan when my husband was stationed at Yokota Air Base 1971-1975. Attending Kanto Plains Baptist Church. My husband and I being a young married couple felt like part of her family. What wonderful Christian examples were Dick and Rita. Prayers for Dick and family. We serve a faithful God.

2016 was the first year I didn't receive a Christmas card from Mrs Owen since I met her in 1984, and my card to Mr and Mrs Owen has just returned here in the U.K. this morning. I knew something must has happened and I have just found this page. Thank you so much for creating this page to share her amazing life and to give me a chance to thank her life.

I have met Mrs Owen at the Tokyo Baptist Church in Tokyo in 1984. She was leading one of the beginners' bible studies and it was there I started to understand about God. She soon became my godmother figure and she took me under her wing whenever I needed. She was warm, humorous, and sincere always. She has prayed for me through tough time and happy time, even from the other side of the world for all these decades. When my daughter was born, she sent her a little soft sheep toy which has "Jesus loves me" musical box inside. It has been loved and treasured and it reminds us Mrs Owen's warm smile and God's abundant love.
I miss her painfully, but at the same time happy for her that she is now with her Lord and Saviour forever.
I thank God for her life and giving me the privilege to have known her. I pray that God's peace and comfort will embrace Dick and her family and all who misses her.
