My dearest Roger, Pamma, Erin, Robert , Jeremy, kids, grand kids--the entire Purdy family, I just had you heavy on my heart today as I was recalling with my son Rennen how special the time was we shared as friends in Tennessee and watched the video Roger made for me in 1996. It lead me today in my car to just now look up your names online and connect with you somehow. Immediately I saw this photograph of your wonderful and delightful father- my memory recognized his face immediately. When I clicked on the picture and read that he had passed on to his heavenly home it blew me away. I guess it's true those in our hearts and in our Father's hands are united in spirit through eternity. I love you Roger Pam and your family and I am so sorry you have lost your precious father. He was such a good man and raised such an awesome man in his son Roger and passed this legacy down to Robert and beyond. Of these things I am absolutely sure. Love to you in Him your friend always, Gaby Brainard

I first met Mr. Purdy when he was buying lumber for their house off South Liberty Road. The framer he had build the house was a friend of mine and through him I got to know Bob. He was such a kind, quite, gentle man. Bob and I became friends and he would come by and we would go to lunch together on occasion--he would buy one time , I would buy the next. I always enjoyed his visits about his children, their families, his trips to-and-fro, and his deep faith in God. He was always an encourager. He really seemed to enjoy his work/fix experiences in Alaska. I was sad to see of his death in the paper yesterday. We all lost a great man--I will miss him not showing up at my work to go out for lunch. I give my sympathy to all the family. God be with you. Dave Peterson -Kilgore/Blackman Bldg Mtls

Seeing Bob's picture brought back memories of growing up in Salem and our many trips to the Chevron gas station. Bob was always so friendly. He was a great guy.

My condolences to your family. I'm sure you will miss him. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

A man who loved God, cared for his family, and was kind to all. One of the finest examples of a true man. It is an honor to call this man my Father.
