Normand Vachon Obituary

It is 5:00 a.m., the sounds of heated water percolating to fill the coffee pot and the room with the aroma of a fresh brew are a daily occurrence. As the sun rises, birds are awakening, he walks over to fill his first mug, on it a reminder of the day ahead. He steps outside, and plans his route, as the night before he knew where all the spots were that he wanted to visit and as he often described it "I love the hunt and negotiating". This was his life, a simple, yet, extremely fulfilling one, a life of adventure, filled with knowledge, wit and at times a little bit of sarcasm.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of Normand Vachon at Douglas Memorial Hospital on May 7, 2021 at the age 66. Cherished father of Karie (Helder) Constantino. Loving son of Henri and Laura (née Tanguay). Dear brother of Carole Marion. Caring uncle of Laura Marion.
Normand was a talented antique collector and dealer; it was his true passion in life. He thrived on searching and finding historic pieces, especially those from Quebec and the East Coast. He led a simple life along side with his dog Mackie and loved living in a country setting surrounded by nature. His daughter was also his pride and joy. He will certainly be missed by all.
Prior to his passing, Norm was wanting a party filled with friends and family. He said, "I want a party while I am alive!" Sadly, time was not on his side. Keeping with Norm's wishes, cremation has taken place and a 'party' will take place at a later date.
As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Walker Family Cancer Center would be greatly appreciated by the family.

I use to work with Norm. We lived down the street from each other in Gasline. Shocked me to hear of this. We lost track over last 5 years. A funny thought of Norm. While drinking on my front deck & eating pizza. A long day that is. Norm fell off my deck & said Justin take me home I had enough beer today. Then we laughed. Cheers to you old Buddy rest easy
