Becker, Betty Jane
Betty Jane Becker, age 83 of Stevens Point, was born into eternal life, Friday, Nov. 9, 2012. She died peacefully at the Harmony Living Center, under the tender care of Ministry Home Hospice. Funeral services will be held 2:00PM Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at Frame Memorial Presbyterian Church, Stevens Point. Rev. Susan Zencka will officiate. Interment will be in the Liberty Corners Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held from 12 Noon until 2:00PM at the Presbyterian Church on Wednesday. The Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home, Marshfield is assisting the family with arrangements.
Betty was born December 31, 1928 in Stevens Point, a daughter of Walter and Cecile (Berry) Spindler. She was a graduate of P.J. Jacobs High School.
Betty was united in marriage to William A. Conachen. William preceded Betty in death on September 5, 1989. On June 12, 1992 she was married to Lyle Becker. Lyle preceded Betty in death on August 3, 2012.
In addition to being a loving wife and homemaker, Betty worked as a secretary at McDill Elementary School for 10years. She then worked at McCain's Department store and retired from Sentry Insurance, where she worked as an office assistant.
In retirement Betty & Lyle spent their winters in Sarasota, Florida and summers in Land O' Lakes, Wisconsin. She was an avid golfer and sports enthusiast. She also enjoyed playing bridge.
Betty loved her family and was a wonderful, mother, daughter, grandmother and friend.
She is lovingly survived by her sons, William Arthur (Judy) Conachen Jr., Nekoosa, WI and Robert Walter (Christine) Conachen, Amherst Jct, WI. Stepchildren, Jon Becker, Stevens Point and Geoffery (Beth) Becker, Ann Arbor, Michigan, grandchildren, Allison Conachen, Stephanie (Nathan) Bailey, Nathan Conachen, Theodore Conachen, Cody Conachen, Step grandchildren, Carrie Walczak and Benjamin Walczak, grandchildren, Tyler Bailey, Emmalynn Walczak and Logan J. Conachen.

We were so sorry to hear of Betty's passing and your loss. Memories of Waupaca and Camp Cleghorn were a highlight of my childhood and I know of Dad's life. Grandma, you will always have a place in my heart and will never be forgotten. Every time it thunders, I will remember from when I was little, "its just the Angels bowling".
