Eunice Schultz

Plainfeild - Eunice Mae (Eager) Schultz, 94, of Plainfield, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2018, at The Lodge at Whispering Pines in Plover surrounded by her family.

Eunice was born on Feb. 2, 1924, in the Town of Oasis, Waushara County, to Ray Wilkens Eager and Daisy (Waters) Eager.

She attended grade-school at South Oasis, a one-room school in Waushara County, and graduated from Plainfield High School in 1941 and then attended State Teachers College (UWSP).

She married Carl R. Schultz on May 11, 1946 in Ripon. They moved to their farm on County Rd. BB in Plainfield in the fall of 1946 where they farmed together for many years. Eunice moved from the farm to The Lodge at Whispering Pines in June of 2017.

Eunice also maintained various jobs outside the home before going to work at King Veterans Home for 16 years.

She enjoyed quilting, making a quilt for each of her children and grandchildren. She was a member of the Golden Needle Quilters and won many awards for her quilts and projects throughout her 70-year membership of the Portage County Home & Community Education (HCE). She was also a member of Quilters for World Relief.

She was an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church, St. John's Ladies Aid, Plainfield VFW Auxiliary and she was co-chair of the Funeral Committee at the church for many years.

Eunice was formerly a member of many other groups and organizations, including: Plainfield Women's Club, American Legion Auxiliary of Almond, 4-H Leaders in Portage County, and the Over 50 Tri-County Reunion Committee.

She taught her children and family members the importance of respect for your elders, work ethic and volunteering.

She is survived by her children: Betty Daberkow, Bancroft; Edward (Dianne) Schultz, Almond; and Ruth (Robert) Schulze, Sussex; grandchildren: Richard Daberkow, Robert (Judy) Daberkow, Susan (Stan) Holm, Brian (Tamara) Schultz, Rodney (Elaine) Schultz, Daniel (Holly Molski) Schultz, Victoria Schulze, and Nicholas Schulze; 15 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by: her husband; her parents; infant brother Thomas Eager; brother and sister-in-law Robert (Esther) Eager; son-in-law Leland Daberkow; and infant grandson Eric Schultz.

Services will be held at St. John's Lutheran Church in Almond on Thursday, March 15 at 6 p.m. with Rev. Brian Roehrborn officiating. A visitation will be held from 3 p.m. to the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Ministry Hospice, St. John's Ladies Aid, Almond Fire Department, or a charity of your choice.

The family would like to thank the staff at The Lodge at Whispering Pines and Ministry Hospice.

Sincere condolences to Mrs Schultz family.
The GUZMAN family had a neighboring farm and always enjoyed Mrs Schultz. She was one of a kind lady and were blessed to have her as a neighbor.
