Can´t think of Mom without thinking of the many things she did with dad and all traveling they did with their group. They enjoyed life to its fullest. To say I miss them just doesn´t say enough. They are ALWAYS on my mind.

Over the past several weeks I was thinking about what an impact you and your family had on my life. So many stories – where to begin?
Going to visit Gene and Camille's was one of the highlights of growing up. I loved the fact that you moved a few times because I enjoy looking at homes, so much so that now I watch HGTV faithfully. Your parties were always fun events with all the delicious food and enjoyable conversation. I even remember back to Brown Station Road. We especially liked visiting you during the holidays!
When I was a child, I stayed overnight at the Lou and Honey's club house on the Big River near Cedar Hill. You made me feel comfortable being away from home though I admit I never did get used to the need to use the outhouse in the middle of the night. I also appreciate those times we came to stay with your at your vacation home at Lake Wappapella. So much fun!
I remember babysitting for your neighbors when you lived on Sunnyview (?). The only thing I really remember about your neighbors was that their daughter had the same name as the dog – Tibsett. Maybe they called the dog, “Tibby?” The extra cash was most welcome during my teen years – I was able to buy gas for the car and a few new clothes. You always made sure I felt at home.
One time Donna and I dressed up in gaudy jewelry and makeup with wigs and other adornments. We showed up on your door step. I don't think I would have been comfortable enough to knock on anyone else's door in that getup. You have a wonderful sense of humor which I've always appreciated.
And I'll never forget those times my mom and my sisters came over for those morning visits during those slow days following Christmas. We drank champagne, ate frozen grapes and chocolates and shared well-worn family stories. One time you didn't have any frozen grapes so substituted canned ones which sprouted hairy filaments. I don't think I've ever laughed so hard.
Richard and I enjoyed our time with you and Harley at your condo in Florida. What a lovely place in a gorgeous setting. Everything was delightful, from the dinner you served to the little out of the way breakfast place and the restaurant whose walls were covered in dollar bills.
Finally, I appreciated that you were always there for my mom and dad.

To Camille's family, I worked with Camille at Western Textile and Camille was a special lady. Camille always made me laugh. My father Don Gloss also worked with Camille and we send our deepest sympathy to all of you.

Our profound sympathies to all the Smetana's as you grieve the loss of your beloved mother. My in laws, Irene and Leo Yahl, spent many vacations with your parents, and enjoyed many laughs. I remember Camille most recently as a gentle spirit with the residents at Delmar Gardens, especially with my father. She helped them attend rosary and Mass on Wednesday, which was such a blessing. I am sending you a spriritual bouquet- a rosary, Mass and hour of adoration for her. May she rest in peace! Mary Ann and Jack Yahl

To Camille's family, I am very sorry to hear the passing of your mother. I worked with her at Western Textile and really enjoyed getting to know her. She was so sweet and had a great sense of humor, she was also the sharpest dresser. She spoke often of her children and grandchildren and took much pride in all of you. God bless you all!
