Dear Sandy,
We are truly sorry to hear of the passing of Dave. I have many fond memories of Uncle Dave, especially hanging out with him and Bandit. He was a very kind and gentle man who will be missed. Although my wife and baby girl never got the opportunity to meet him, he will always be cherished by us all. We are always thinking of you, and will continue to pray for you and the rest of the family. All our love from Germany, Dan, Katja and Fiona

Dear Sandy,
Dave and you had a special bond and love that no one can ever appreciate except for you and Dave. My heart is so sad for you and I pray that God gives you the strength and the memories of the great times to help you find peace as you continue your travels through life. You should have no regrets. Dave was a good guy and I wish I could have spent more time with him over the years. He loved you, his puppies, his family and of course the Saint Louis Blues. He is probably in heaven with my dad, Grandpa Roy, Uncle Jim, etc. maybe throwing "jarts" in the yard or more than likely watching a Blues' game and discussing the Stanley Cup win. He will be missed.

So sorry to hear about Dave passing. Good friends with Dave in high school, he was one of the warmest people found anywhere. My sympathies go out to Dave's family and friends as we all lost a good man.

To Sandy and the Oppland Family. Even though we have gone our different directions over the years I have not forgot the good times from our past. The best to all for the future.

"Choppers, I will always remember all the great years we had and one day we will sit pool side again and continue one of the many discussions we never finished."

It's very sad to hear that Dave passed away so young. He was one of my best friends as we grew up together up on Edgecliffe. I have so many memories of Dave, whether it was playing hot box together, playing rubber or tennis ball baseball in the street that we did every day of the summers, exploring the sewer pipes looking for the ball that went down the sewer during our games, sweating like crazy at "Ronnie's Field" ball games after we cut the grass with our push mowers, riding the Red Bird Express to the ball games when our parents would drop us off at Crestwood Plaza when we were only 11 or 12 years old, jumping up and down in celebration out in the street when the Cardinals won the 1964 National League Crown, or when both of us got so excited when Dave caught a foul ball that rolled up the arm of a Cardinal relief pitcher warming up in the left field foul line bull pen. Even though I hadn't seen Dave in many years, I talked about him often when reminiscing about about growing up in the old neighborhood. My sincere condolences to his Mom and the rest of his family.

Very said to hear of Dave's passing. I was one of Mary Oppland's good friends growing up in the old neighborhood and hung out at the Oppland's quite a lot. Prayers and thoughts go out to the whole family
