An Ode From Janelle

Think of me, think of me fondly
when we have said goodbye.
Remember me every so often-
promise me you will try.

When you find that once again,
you long to take your heart back and be free,
if you ever find a moment,
spare a thought for me…

We never said our Love was evergreen, or as unchanging as the sea-
but if you can still remember, stop and think of me..

Think of August when the trees were green-
don’t think about the way things might have been…

Think of me waking, silent and resigned.

Imagine me trying too hard to put you from my mind.

Recall those days, look back on all those times,
think of things we will
never do again.
there will never be a day when I won’t think of you.

Flowers fade
The fruits of summer fade
they all have seasons so do we
But please promise me that sometimes
you will think of me.

And I will remember you
Will you remember me?
Don’t let your life pass you by
Weep not for the memories

Janelle was a special friend, from our first meeting in Germany in the 1960's, through our travels in Europe, to the many happy days we shared in Stone Mountain. She was a true lady who graced our lives in so many ways. How fortunate we are to have known her.

My memories of Janelle are few, but they are delightful She was always gracious and warm. Her children are testimony to her successful job of motherhood. Treasure your memories and always remain the close, loving family you are now. She was a wonderful person; I am pleased to have known her. Praying for you all.
