In the beginning the minutes came and went, with each of them having a memory of you, then the hours, eventually making it from day to day. 15 years later, sometimes it’s a day or week but never longer that my thoughts turn to you. They say time heals all wounds but I disagree. Time heals painful experiences but not true wounds. These are the times we think of you most: today, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Easter, Halloween, Independence Day, Christmas, Thanksgiving, the day you were taken from us, your birthday, our 5 grown babies birthdays, our sweet 8 grandchildren’s birthdays, and basically everything day in between.

Happy Birthday Mike! I know it isn't for another week but I didn't want you to think that we forgot about you. We talk about you all the time, especially when someone tells one of those dirty jokes. We will be like that's a Mike joke, he would have loved that or have been the one to tell it. We miss you, it's not the same anymore at work. It's all going to pot. Anyway, Happy Birthday Big Man.

To Mike's family: Mike was a great friend and boss. I'll always remember him as being in a great mood even when things weren't going that great. I'll miss all of his jokes, he was constantly telling one. He was the life of the party when we hung out. I'll also miss his dancing and throwing darts, letting me when once in a while. Joanna, if you need anything you know you can find me at Walmart.
