Leon J. Hubert, 80, of Biloxi, MS passed away at his home on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 surrounded by his family.
Mr. Hubert was born in Rhode Island on March 21, 1936 to Henry and Evelyn Hubert. He received his Bachelor of Science degree at USM. Mr. Hubert served 2 years in the U.S. Army. He retired from the U.S. Air Force after 22 years of service and retired from civil service for the U.S. Navy Department of Defense after 17 years of service. He received 2 Commendation Medals and Awards from the U.S. Air Force and a Certificate of Merit from the U.S. Navy Department of Defense. Mr. Hubert was a member of Heritage United Methodist Church where he served as Head Usher.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and his siblings, Lillian Pelletier and John Hubert.
Mr. Hubert's survivors include his wife, Peggy Hubert; his children, Michelle (Kelly) Rivers and Renee' (Chip) Meynier; and his grandchildren, Dominic and Desiree Colella.
Visitation will be held at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home on Sunday, December 18, 2016 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Funeral Services will be held at Heritage United Methodist Church on Monday, December 19, 2016 at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.
