Edward John "Chip" Kilgus, age 70, of Fort Lauderdale, FL died on June 28, 2017. Born on January 18, 1947 in Astoria, NY a son to the late Edward Henry and Dorothy Vita Kilgus. Chip was a graduate of St. Dominic High School where until his death he remained very active in his graduating class, helping to organize class reunions. Following high school, he served in the Army National Guard where he was Honorably Discharged as NCOIC Staff Sergeant, E-7 Finance. He received a BA in English from Adelphi University and wrote poetry. He also became quite the sports enthusiast, especially having a love for baseball. Chip was a devout Catholic and a faithful member at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church as well as a 4th degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus, council 3080 and all who knew Chip, knew he was an avid singer and a very active member of the Republican party. He leaves to cherish his memory, sister, Kathleen Kilgus Chamberlin; brother, Christopher J. Kilgus; niece, Kyra Lazzaro; nephews, Michael and Ian Thornton. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00am Thursday, July 13th at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. He will be laid to rest in the Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville , NY.
