I never had the honor of actually meeting our City's finest Mayor in person,
but I happen to call her for the first time ever, to thank her for appointing
me two years ago, to the Marine Advisory Board of the City of Deerfield Beach.
When She appointed me, She didn't know that I was a member of the Dalmatian
Royal Family. Jean Robb appointed me because of my experience and credentials, she said.
I believe it was Friday, June 16th when I called her in the afternoon. When I introduced
myself, She remembered me, She told me it was not a good time for her to talk, She told me,
She had just come out of Chemotherapy and She was very upset because She was told that
She only had another year to live, She gave me her e-mail address and I told her that I was
so sorry and that I would pray for her, we hung up the phone together, I started to cry for her
and her family, I became terribly upset myself, because although I had never met her, I did in fact,
have a Great deal of respect for her, and I was always one of her biggest fans. She was a Great woman,
a great Mayor and She was my Hero. Jean Robb was also a Hero of our Great City, She worked tirelessly
for all of the residents of our City. I never met her, but I knew that She was someone special, intelligent, intuitive,
sensitive, witty, warm, compassionate, beautiful and with a great sense of humor. Jean Robb, as you look down
on us from Heaven, please know that you will be missed and that I will never let you down.
