Charles E. Fields January 17, 2020 Charles E. Fields, 91, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home in the care of his beloved daughter in Tully, NY on Fri., Jan. 17, 2020. He was born July 16, 1928 in Watertown, NY to Charles and Lillian (Brown) Fields. In 1959 he married Donna Dye. During their unwavering 56 years of marriage, they raised four sons and four daughters. Like a true man of many trades, Charles wore the hat to a variety of professions throughout his career days. It was farming however that consumed much of his life's work. Always known and sought after as the guy you wanted when there were long hours and demanding work at hand. He would do the job and always did it well. While he loved his work, he loved and cherished his family even more. He embraced every opportunity to spend his time and attention on them. Like a true Yankee's fan and lover of the game, moreover it was no surprise that after a long, arduous day on the farm he would be rounding all eight kids up to go play around at the ball field. If they were not headed to the ball field, they were off to dance the night away or partake in any other wholesome family fun, something he cherished ever so dearly. Charles was predeceased, by his parents, Charles and Lillian (Brown) Fields and his beautiful wife of 56 years, Donna Dye Fields. He is survived by his children, Charles (Linda) Fields of Fabius, Mary (Justin) Bumpus of Fabius, Gloria (Randy) Fairbairn of Sherburne, Judy (Jan) Schriver of Tully, Jeff (Jackie) Fields of Tully, Peggy (Paul) Clark of Mebane, NC, Marty (Anne Marie) of LaFayette, Daniel Fields of Liverpool; 20 Grandchildren and 21 Great-grandchildren. Calling hours, will be held Sat., Jan. 25, from 12 noon to 2 pm at the Hartwell Funeral Home, 461 Route 281, Tully, NY 13159 with a Funeral Service to follow at 2:15pm at the funeral home.
