Mary Lou helped us through the adoption from Korea of our daughter who is now 37. We have never met a kinder, more gracious, and caring person. We will never forget her and what she did for us.

Years ago Han's Mother lived at East Side Manor in Fayetteville. I worked there as a nurse and was so fortunate to know The Hartenstein Family. Mom and family were a class act and so devoted to each other. Such joy in their visits together. Mary was always present when any issue arose and both she and Hans were great to interact with on any level.

Mary Louise Hartenstein always had the best interests of children at heart - always. I knew her professionally when she had an adoption service in Syracuse - the kids and their mothers were first in her concerns when she called to arrange for care. She and Hans leave a legacy here to make their family and colleagues proud and grateful. They will both be missed.

I will miss MaryLou always, forget her never. The trips in Upstate have been a highlight of my life. We traveled to various beautiful places over the years. Sharp as a tack, I was never able to beat her at scrabble. MaryLou, I'll love you always and keep the promises I've made. Robert
