Dr. Schiess was a brilliant physician and an inspirational leader. His legacy will be cherished by the lives he touched over several decades, as a healer, teacher and humanist. May he rest in peace.

Dr. Schiess was my role model and inspiration. I once asked him, while in an elevator at Crouse, "How can you keep doing this for so long?" "One day at a time," was the answer. He was a great doc and a great leader.

Remembering a fine gentleman whose talents were legion. Did so enjoy knowing Bill and now send along most respectful sentiments.

Sincerely,

Tony Kreuzer

Dr. Schiess was one of my first bosses at Crouse Hospital. I remember he would host a Christmas party for the Department of Medicine staff and the nurses and he would always provide the fish which he had caught himself. He and Dr. Al Tripodi made a great team as Chief and Assistant Chief of Medicine. He and Betty Bone were such a loving couple. I'm sure she is so happy to have him with her. I was so blessed to have known this wonderful man.
