To the Colson family,

My heart goes out to you with love.
I am sending up prayers for your comfort at this time of sorrow in your lives.

I have very fond memories of Uncle Sunny.
He was truly an inspiration to me as a child and as an adult. He and his Beautiful wife Aunt Geneva and lovely daughter Kimberlie.

Uncle Sunny would walk around the room with a smile on his face and a camera in his hands capturing the spirit of joy and love in the room.

When he smiled at you, it was difficult not to smile back. You had to smile back at him because his attitude was so friendly.

Uncle Sunny could talk and chat with just about anyone. He could make me laugh at myself all while telling the truth.

As I sit here at work, looking at his picture, I see his personality shining through. I have memories of sitting around the table eating and Uncle Sunny would say something funny and I would burst out laughing, trying to keep my food in my mouth.

He always had a story to tell and advise to give.
He was smart. He spoke volumes even when he wasn't talking.

One day, I looked at him and Aunt Geneva as they were visiting NJ and saw the unspoken Love between them. I remember uncle Sunny singing to Aunt Geneva "We were alone and I was singing my song to you."

May God bless you Aunt Geneva and Kimberlie. I pray he keeps his arms around you both and the entire Colson family.

With much Love,
Mary Webb and family.

To Mrs. Colson and the family, I cannot put into words how heavy my heart has been to learn of Mr. Gus' passing. As a member of the Smith-Williams family, I can assure you he will be thought of often and missed very deeply by many.
Gus was like an older brother, always sharing his wisdom and the lessons to be learned. He had a thirst for knowledge & understanding, especially as it related to our enslaved ancestors. He always had an interesting, humorus and sometimes unbelievable story to tell. God has called home one of his finest warriors & I, for one, am grateful for the privilege and honor of knowing Mr. Augustus Colson, rest well my friend. For Mrs. Colson & the family, with much love, I pray God allows you to find peace and comfort in the precious gift of memories that only Gus could have given you.

Condolences to Geneva and the Colson family on the passing of your beloved husband and father.
He will be remembered for his contributions to the FAMU brand and his deep religious faith.

May you find comfort in the knowledge that he is now in Eternal Rest.
