MADDOX, Elzine (Halstead) On Sunday, February 7, 2021, Evangelist Elzine Halstead Maddox got her wings and went home to be with her Lord. She was 91 years old. Evangelist Maddox gave her life to the Lord at 12 years old and was a life long member of the Church In Christ Written in Heaven. Born in Elba, AL, April 24, 1929 to the late Rachel Lee and Bishop Rosslemar Halstead, she was the oldest of their four children and was the last living. She was married early in life to Calvin Dixon and later in life to Lorenza Maddox, both preceded her in death. She was well known throughout North Florida for her gospel singing and piano playing ability. Evangelist Maddox is survived by daughter, Gloria; sons, Calvin, Dale, Ray, and Robert. Wake will be held Friday, at Mt. Zion UM Church, 2751 Sunset Point Rd., Clearwater, FL, 5-7 pm. Graveside service will be held Saturday, 11 am, at Calvary Catholic Cemetery (Live Stream).
